Kent McFuller from Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
Similar to our favorite heroine, our favorite hero also does not battle dragons or anything badass like that. However, he is the extremely loyal and adorable boy next door who is there for the main character, Sam, no matter how much of a jerk she is. While this may sound like a guy who is just letting a girl walk all over him, Kent definitely is not. He has his moments where he mans up and takes control of the situation, and he actually sees right through the fake Sam.
Anyways, Kent is a hero because he's the one who will put up with some crap but won't let you walk all over him.
